Take a Virtual Tour

In 2004, Boston Education, Skills & Training (BEST) Corp. was formed as an independent non-profit 501C3 organization focusing on workforce development and the creation of a Hotel Training Center.  BEST Corp. seeks to provide individuals the education, skills and training to excel in the hospitality industry and in their personal lives.

Local 26 Hotel Training Center (HTC) provides classes in English for Hospitality, literacy, and citizenship as well as certification skills training in On-Call Banquet Server, Busser/Server, Basic Culinary Arts, Food Safety,  Housekeeping and other nationally recognized certification trainings. We also provide career counseling and career workshops. In January 2008, HTC opened a state of the art computer lab. Classes in computer skills as well as drop-in lab hours are offered. HTC arranges one-on-one tutoring for those students who don’t fit into our regularly scheduled classes. Our goal is to meet the educational needs of our clients through a myriad of classes and other services. MORE >

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE AN abe LeadER?

Leadership can sometimes be a complicated art, sometimes it’s a simple act.  MCAE is asking you to be a leader in ABE, and we’ve made it simple.

If your program receives state and/or federal adult basic education (ABE) funding, your services to the community depend, in large measure, on MCAE’s steadfast and effective advocacy.  However, MCAE’s capacity to continue this work is perilously at risk.

Due to the changing funding priorities of some of MCAE’s major, long-term supporters, we must now diversify our funding sources and raise $30,000 by June 30 to continue our services uninterrupted.

As we look out to the broader community to diversify funding, it is critical we can show that your program – a beneficiary of our services – supports us.

We are pleased to announce 2 new MCAE organizational memberships with new benefits.  We’re especially pleased that one of the new benefits includes priority service for MCAE member programs and their employees to receive discounted health insurance rates for Massachusetts plans through our partnership with the National Association of Socially Responsible Organizations.

To become a Leadership Circle or Organizational Member, simply click here for everything you need to join.  As you may remember from registering for Network, if you receive funding from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, your grant has a budget line for memberships.

As always, MCAE also continues to welcome individual memberships to support our vital efforts.

MCAE is the unified voice for ABE in Massachusetts.  Please send your membership support today so we can continue to speak forcefully on your behalf without interruption.

Being an ABE leader has never been easier.
