http://www.faesl.org/

Framingham Adult English As a Second Language PLUS (FAESL+) is a unique program for people who want to make a successful transition into American society and develop the academic skills necessary to meet their goals.

We offer six levels of English as a Second Language instruction. The focus is on developing effective communication skills.

The program also offers three levels of Adult Basic Education. The focus is on developing reading and writing skills and helping students to obtain a GED.

We also offer a Summer School, Children's Literacy Instruction (Family Literacy), Workplace Education programs, computer instruction, advanced writing course, citizenship, volunteer-led conversation groups, speakers, a resource directory for new immigrants, field trips, and community involvement activities.

Our students range from in age from 18 to 92, are 50% female and 50% male and come from 33 different countries and a wide variety of educational backgrounds — from little formal education to doctoral degrees.

At FAESL+, students and teachers work together to create activities which are realistic, relevant, and rewarding for all participants. In dynamic learning environments, students strive toward English fluency, academic achievement, economic empowerment, and civic involvement.

Our common goal is the development of communication and academic skills that will allow our students to integrate their talents and energy into the life of the community and the country
