The Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education (MCAE) Public Policy Committee annually implements a strategic advocacy campaign to promote adult basic education appropriations, policy, and other legislation that will expand capacity and strengthen adult basic education (ABE) services, and support ABE students, teachers, staff, and communities.

MCAE’s advocacy work includes:

  • Informing legislators about the importance and needs of ABE
  • Offering testimony, briefings, and other events to highlight ABE successes and challenges
  • Informing, training and mobilizing advocates
  • Incorporating civic engagement and public policy issues into adult basic education curriculum
  • Supporting the budget and policy priorities of allies

The MCAE Public Policy Committee annually implements a strategic advocacy campaign to promote adult basic education appropriations, policy, and other legislation that will positively affect adult basic education on both the state and federal levels.
